Oskar Brostrom Poulsen will have a tough test against Top Nidunjianzan from Princeton. These matches promise to be intense battles as the players showcase their skills on the court.
With Velcz as the third alternate in the singles draw, the competition is set to be fierce. Each player is vying for a chance to reach the top and claim the championship title on Sunday, November 24th.
Marko Miladinovic and Brostrom Poulsen will face a challenging matchup against Ondrej Horak and Karim Al-Amin from Middle Tennessee. Their former squad connection adds an interesting twist to the doubles draw. Meanwhile, Velcz and Badenhorst will begin their doubles campaign against Aadarsh Tripathi and Alexander Hoogmartens from UCLA.
Baylor's men's tennis squad, coached by Michael Woodson, is well-represented in both the singles and doubles draws. With the national No. 2 seed in the championship and one of the 5-8 seeds for Velcz and Badenhorst, the Bears are aiming for success.
Cristina Tiglea and Luibov Kostenko will represent the Baylor women's tennis team in the doubles draw. They will take on Lily Fairclough and Grace Piper from USC in the first round. This is their final shot at qualification in the NCAA Central Sectional Championships, and they are ready to make their mark.
Tiglea and Kostenko have been given a 5-8 seed, joining TCU's Otway/Pascual as ranked entries for the women's doubles championship. The women's program is also looking to add to Baylor's rich tennis history.
Between the men's and women's programs, three Bears have already hoisted an NCAA singles champion trophy. Benedikt Dorsch was Baylor's first individual tennis champion in 2004, followed by Zuzana Zemenova and Benjamin Becker sweeping the titles in 2005. The tradition of excellence continues in Waco.
Tickets for the championships are still available through the Baylor athletics ticket office, allowing fans to witness the tennis magic firsthand.
