In Bowling Green, Kentucky, Meadow Land Baptist Church volunteers have been working tirelessly to address the escalating hunger among community members on the west end. Despite their best efforts, the community's demand is rapidly surpassing their available space.

Volunteer Efforts in Weekly Food Pickup and Lunch Programs

The church volunteers are witnessing record-breaking numbers of participants in their weekly food pickup events and their weekly hot lunch programs at Carpenter Park. These initiatives play a crucial role in providing sustenance to those in need. The dedicated volunteers ensure that families receive the necessary food to get by.

Monthly Large-Scale Events and On-Demand Food Box Pickups

In addition to their monthly large-scale events supported by Feeding America, the church offers on-demand food box pickups by appointment throughout the week. This flexibility allows up to 180 families to be fed through the small church each week. The volunteers' commitment to meeting the diverse needs of the community is truly remarkable.

Renovating Storage Space to Meet Growing Demand

While the volunteers have the manpower to keep up with the demand, their storage space inside the church is gradually decreasing. To address this issue, they are now working on renovating a storage building on the church's property. This more permanent storage space will enable them to better serve the community and continue their important work. For information on how to contribute to the growth of the church's food donation program or to receive food assistance, call Meadow Land Baptist Church at (270) 599-2570.
