ATHENS — In the latest College Football Playoff rankings for Week 13, Georgia football has witnessed a significant upward movement. The Bulldogs have now secured the 10th position in the rankings, a feat achieved after their victory over Tennessee. Tennessee, which was previously ranked 7th, has slipped to 11th. Just like a week ago, Tennessee fails to qualify for an at-large spot.

Georgia's Rank and Seed Discrepancy

While Georgia stands at the 10th ranked team, it would be the 11th seed in the rankings. Remarkably, the Bulldogs are ahead of the top-ranked teams from the Big 12 and ACC. The four highest-ranked conference champions are Oregon, Texas, Miami, and BYU. If the College Football Playoff were to commence today, these would be the top four seeds. The at-large teams include Ohio State, Penn State, Indiana, Notre Dame, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Georgia. This weekend, Ohio State hosts Indiana. After the win over Tennessee, head coach Kirby Smart expressed his frustration with the College Football Playoff committee and their rankings. He said on Tuesday night, "I think they value wins and losses. They place people based on a column of wins and losses, not on the eye test of going to watch them play and see them and see who they played. I just don't think they base it on wins and losses. I don't think they say, well, this is better than that. They just say this record's better than that. That's the most simple way to do it. It's not necessarily the 12 best. So we'll see what happens."Georgia has successfully completed its SEC schedule, going 6-2 in league play. It remains uncertain whether Georgia will participate in the SEC championship game. The two participants in the Dec. 7 game will not be determined until Nov. 30, when Texas travels to Texas A&M.This week, Georgia is set to face UMass. The game is scheduled to start at 12:45 p.m. ET on the SEC Network. The College Football Playoff rankings will be updated again next Tuesday and the Tuesday after that. The final rankings and seeds will be announced on Dec. 8, the day after the SEC championship game.Below, you can find the full College Football Playoff Rankings for Week 13.College Football Playoff rankings for Week 13OregonOhio StateTexasPenn StateIndianaNotre DameAlabamaMiamiOle MissGeorgiaTennesseeBoise StateSMUBYUTexas A&MColoradoClemsonSouth CarolinaArmyTulaneArizona StateIowa StateMissouriUNLVIllinoisCollege Football Playoff seeds for Week 13OregonTexasMiamiBoise StateOhio StatePenn StateIndianaNotre DameAlabamaOle MissGeorgiaBYU
