In the world of horror franchises, a new chapter is about to unfold. Ghostface, the iconic masked killer, has now set its sights on a fresh target. Isabel May, a rising star with notable appearances in Yellowstone prequels 1883 and 1923, has been offered the coveted role of Neve Campbell's daughter in Scream 7. She is in active discussions to star opposite the Scream Queen herself. This seventh installment of the horror franchise, being produced by Spyglass Entertainment, is in the process of rebuilding after facing the loss of its young stars Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera.

Rebuilding After Setbacks

The horror franchise was in need of a creative reset when Campbell's casting came as a ray of hope. Barrera was unfortunately fired from the franchise last year due to social media posts related to the Israel-Hamas war. Meanwhile, Ortega had quietly exited the project months earlier. In the wake of these departures, the original director Christopher Landon decided to step away. However, filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, known as Radio Silence, stepped in and helped bring the series back to prominence with 2022's Scream. Last year's Scream VI, which they also directed, achieved remarkable success at the global box office, collecting $166.3 million.

The Return of Neve Campbell

Neve Campbell, who sat out the previous installment due to a salary dispute, is now back for the new feature. This new Scream installment will focus on her character, Sidney Prescott, and her daughter. Sidney has been the heart and soul of the franchise since the very first movie, which also starred Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers and David Arquette as Dewey Riley. Campbell's return adds a new dimension to the story and is sure to excite fans.

Isabel May's Rising Stardom

In addition to her roles in Yellowstone prequels, Isabel May has made a mark in other projects as well. She had a significant role in the 2022 rom-com feature I Want You Back and co-starred in the Apple TV+ series Masters of the Air. Her talent and versatility have caught the attention of the Scream team, making her the perfect choice to play Campbell's daughter. With her repping by CAA and Principal Entertainment, she is in good hands as she takes on this challenging and exciting role.

The Creative Team

Kevin Williamson, the creator of the franchise and the scriptwriter for the Wes Craven-directed original as well as Scream 2 and Scream 4, is directing this new installment. Guy Busick, who wrote 2022's Scream and Scream VI, penned the script. Paramount Pictures is set to release Scream 7 in theaters on Feb. 27, 2026, under the production of Project X Entertainment's James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein. With such a talented creative team behind it, fans can expect a thrilling and suspenseful movie.
