A Group of 7-12 Year Olds to Launch Businesses Next Sunday at Gabriel House

Dec 7, 2024 at 9:28 PM
Next Sunday in Springboro, a group of 7 to 12-year-old kids will be establishing their businesses at the Gabriel House. These kids have been working on their ventures for the past 12 weeks and are now ready to sell their products. The Kids Growing in Business - Homeschool Group was launched last fall by April Kirby. During the summer, she assisted her daughter Charlie in starting Charlie's Dog Treat Stand. April explained that as they do school at home, she wanted Charlie to learn business skills along with communication. A few years ago, she created a small business planning system and adapted it into a kid business curriculum. After testing it with Charlie over the summer and seeing its success, a homeschool group focused on kids building and running businesses (ages 7 to 12) was formed. This is how Kids Growing in Business got started.

Program Focuses on Business Building

The program teaches kids how to build a business from the very beginning. They spend 12 weeks creating a genuine business. It starts with planning the business name and products (the foundation), followed by working on marketing, branding, and designing the products (the walls). Then, they focus on the regulations and rules for running their businesses (the roof) and finally launch their businesses in the Kids Farm Market (opening their doors). 1: The 12-week process is a comprehensive one, allowing kids to gain hands-on experience in every aspect of business. From coming up with unique product ideas to understanding the legal requirements, they learn it all. This not only gives them a sense of accomplishment but also prepares them for the real world. 2: The Kids Farm Market provides a perfect platform for these young entrepreneurs to showcase their products. It gives them a taste of what it's like to be in a business environment and interact with customers. It's an exciting opportunity for them to see their hard work pay off.

Upcoming Christmas Market

The Kids Christmas Market will be held at Gabriel House in Springboro on December 15, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM. This is a great event where kids can sell their products and interact with the community. 1: It's a festive occasion where kids get to share their creations with others. The market氛围 is filled with the excitement of the holiday season and the spirit of entrepreneurship. 2: Parents and families also get to support these young entrepreneurs and celebrate their achievements. It's a wonderful way to spend time together and encourage the next generation of business leaders.

Benefits of the Program

One of the reasons for creating this program is to teach kids that they can make money anywhere as long as they offer a quality product or service. It gives them the knowledge of entrepreneurship and how money works. 1: This knowledge will stay with them for a lifetime and help them make informed decisions in the future. It also helps them develop important skills such as problem-solving and decision-making. 2: Along the way, they also build friendships with other kids who have similar interests. This creates a supportive community where kids can learn from each other and grow together.
