Danny Jones, a 38-year-old singer, songwriter, and musician, is best known as one of the lead singers of McFly. Born in Brightmet near Bolton, he attended Thornleigh Salesian College, Haberdashers’ Boys’ School, and later Bury College, where he pursued a BTEC in music. His musical journey began in 2003 when he joined McFly alongside Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter, and Harry Judd. In 2005, McFly achieved a significant milestone by winning the Brit Award for Best British Pop Act, and their debut album Room on the 3rd Floor topped the UK Albums Chart.
Since then, McFly has released six more studio albums, and their popular songs like Five Colours in Her Hair, Obviously, Shine a Light, All About You, and That Girl have become classics. Danny's musical talent has not only made him a household name but has also opened doors to various entertainment ventures. He isn't new to reality shows; earlier this year, he appeared and won The Masked Singer as Piranha. Currently, he features alongside Tom Fletcher as a coach in The Voice UK.
Danny is happily married to model Georgia Horsley, and the couple welcomed a son in 2018. This aspect of his life adds a different dimension to his public persona and shows the softer side of the renowned musician.
Speaking ahead of entering the jungle, Danny expressed his excitement and nervousness. He felt privileged to be invited and saw it as an amazing opportunity. He emphasized that he had always learned a lot by pushing himself out of his comfort zone and that this was a chance to learn more about himself. He also wanted to show his little son that it's okay to be scared but to face challenges and conquer them.
When asked about what he would be like to share a camp with, Danny added that he is quite patient, placid, and chilled. He enjoys a calm environment, putting on music, and having a nice smell. A bath in the evening is also one of his pleasures.
Joining Danny in the jungle are Corrie star Alan Halsall, Dancing on Ice judge Oti Mabuse, TV presenter GK Barry, singer Tulisa, WAG Coleen Rooney, radio DJ Melvin Odoom, Loose Women’s Jane Moore, former boxer Barry McGuigan, and radio presenter Dean McCullough. The diverse group of celebs is sure to bring a lot of entertainment and drama to the show.
I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here starts on ITV1 on Sunday, November 17 at 9pm. Fans are eagerly waiting to see how Danny and the other celebs will fare in the Australian bush.
