Tricia Whitaker, a familiar face in the Tampa Bay Rays' in-game reporting for six seasons, has made a significant decision. Tricia Whitaker's Transition - From Rays to AppleTV
Life Changes and Priorities
Whitaker's decision is driven by some very happy life changes. She now looks forward to spending more time in the Midwest with her family, students, and sweet nephew. This shift allows her to prioritize what matters most to her at present. She will still be deeply involved in baseball as she continues to be on the MLB sidelines for Friday Night Baseball on @appletv. In fact, she will be there every Friday, a joy that replaces the occasional missed Fridays with the Rays. There are wonderful things in store this season on Apple! The Rays Organization and Broadcast Crew
Despite her deep love for the Rays organization and her on-air broadcast crew, Whitaker felt the need to make this change. The crew at @fanduelsportsnetworkfla - Dewayne, BA, @richholl, @ry_bass, and @dougwaechter10 - are wonderful humans who made the broadcast what it is. They accepted her as a young reporter and made her feel at home. She also expressed her gratitude to the entire Rays team, including the players, coaches, front office, and PR staff. The fans, who welcomed her with open arms, hold a special place in her heart.Meeting Favorite Players and Camerman
Over the years, Whitaker had the opportunity to meet some of her favorite players who became her biggest supporters or trusted her with their stories. Names like @josesiri22, @glasnowt, @randy_arozarena, @manuelmargot, @shanemviii, @joshlowe2, @nathaniel_lowe, @rpepiot10, @t_dubbs10, @pete_af Kevin Kiermaier, @thewizardofbaz, and @shawn43armstrong stand out. She will continue to bug them for interviews when covering their games on Apple! And her camerman @cam_man35 [DJ Moore] has been her rock through the years and truly her best friend.Whitaker is excited about this next chapter and can't wait to see everyone on @appletv every Friday. Stay tuned for more!In addition to her in-game reporting for Tampa Bay, she has been an in-game reporter for AppleTV's national broadcasts and an adjunct instructor at Indiana University.
