Salt Lake City witnessed an exciting event as the Utah Hockey Club and FM100.3 joined forces on Tuesday evening. At precisely 4:58 p.m., UHC players Sean Durzi and John Marino assisted KSL NewsRadio sister station FM100.3 (KSFI) in flipping the switch, marking the commencement of this year's holiday music season.
Utah's Deep Love for Christmas
FM100.3 host Rebecca Cressman played a crucial role in spreading the news about the start of this new season. She expressed great excitement, stating, "This becomes one of the most listened-to Christmas music stations in the country because Utah truly adores Christmas and the holidays. It's a time when the entire state comes together, and the music acts as a powerful unifying force." She emphasized that at FM100.3, it's a continuous celebration of Christmas music throughout the season. "I absolutely love it because music carries a special feeling. In a world that has been stressed, perhaps even more so this year, it's all about coming together, remembering the love for our brothers and sisters, and taking care of one another. The music is like a warm blanket of love and peace that spreads across the Wasatch Front." She also mentioned that listeners can look forward to a few new songs in the rotation while ensuring the classic holiday tunes their audience loves will still be played. The Magic of FM100.3's Christmas Concert Series
Throughout the holiday season, FM100.3 hosts a remarkable Christmas concert series. These shows take place at the Shops at South Town and feature local musicians. The concerts start at noon and are completely free. This year, renowned musicians like Gentri, Alex Boyé, the Bonner Family, Jenny Oakes Baker, Peter Breinholt, and many more will grace the stage. "You just sit and feel," Cressman said. "There's something unique about live concerts that brings us closer together and instills that sense of peace. The atmosphere is truly magical." The concerts are typically held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but the first one will kick off on Black Friday, adding an extra touch of excitement to the holiday season.
