The funds from the organization directly support programs like lifesaving cardiology surgeries and training for emergency workers. It also provides support for families and Child Life Specialists in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at MassGeneral Hospital for Children.

Ortiz's charity was founded in 2007 in partnership with CEDIMAT Hopsital to bring pediatric cardiac surgeries and care to the Dominican Republic and later extended its mission to New England. To date, the David Ortiz’s Celebrity Golf Classic has raised more than $12 million for this noble cause.
