In the latest series of "I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here", fans have been left in a state of confusion due to a rather "weird" alteration in the celebrities' appearance while they are in the jungle. The 2024 series kicked off on Sunday night (November 17), introducing ten famous faces who were about to make their jungle debuts. Split into two groups, there was little time for them to get to know each other as they were immediately faced with a trial to determine the first camp leaders of the series.

Initial Challenges and Camp Dynamics

After facing various challenges before arriving in the jungle, Barry McGuigan and Danny Jones were tasked by the first camp leaders Alan Halsall and Tulisa Contostavlos to take on the first trial. They were locked in padlocked cages and had to earn stars, which would translate to meals. Danny managed to earn five stars, while Barry struggled and got nothing. As a result, the camp was given their first dinner of Kangaroo hind.During the second episode on Monday night (November 18), fans were surprised to see campmate GK Barry, also known as Grace, miss out on just one star in the Vile Volcano bushtucker trial. She had been voted by the public for the trial and received a pep talk from her fellow campmates before heading down to see Ant and Dec. She admitted that she was likely chosen because she was the only one to scream during the challenges the previous day.At the bushtucker trial clearing, GK had to venture deep inside a bubbling volcano into a series of caves and tunnels. Along the way, she faced snakes, spiders, rats, and many other creepy crawlies. At one point, a giant spider perched on top of her helmet, but she managed to power through and came out with a total of nine stars out of a possible 10 for the camp.

The Abandoned Phone Number Tradition

In previous years, the contestants would carry the phone number that fans needed to call to vote for them on the back of their T-shirts. However, this year, the tradition has been abandoned, and viewers are now directed to vote via the show's app. Just the campmates' names fill the top of the back of their shirts.@superTV247 said: "THEY DON’T HAVE PHONE NUMBERS ON THE BACK OF THEIR SHIRTS? #ImACeleb." @azzle94 commented: "Just realised they don’t have their phone numbers on the back of their shirts! #ImACeleb." @samgardiner29 posted: "Feels weird that no one has a phone number on their back this year #imaceleb."@st_ua_rt wrote: "All of the t-shirts having full government names on the back rather than their first names and a phone number is sending me #ImACeleb." @patel07bcfc added: "Anyone else on day 2 n just realised they don’t have phone numbers on their T-shirts Just looked online and it’s due too not many people actually doing phone votes #imaceleb."This change has made many realize that something else key to the show will be missing going forward. @stellycrawf said: "We’ll never hear “SHORT NUMBER” when the vote opens ever again I’m really sad #ImACeleb." @MitchellWebb85 commented: "No phone lines to vote this year then m gonna miss hearing “The short number” being said #ImACeleb." @marcjohnson27 added: "So 2024 is the year they’ve finally got rid of phone voting… who’s gonna shout call the SHORT NUMBER now #ImACeleb."A spokesperson for ITV reportedly revealed that there has been a significant decline in telephone voting recently, which led to the show channeling all the votes into one place.
