The Oxford High School tennis team secured a resounding victory against New Albany with a score of 5-2 at the John Leslie Tennis Courts on Tuesday. The match showcased outstanding performances from both teams, but Oxford's strategic play and teamwork ultimately led them to success. Notable victories included wins in boys singles, both boys doubles matches, mixed doubles, and girls doubles. Despite losing two matches to New Albany, Oxford demonstrated exceptional skill and determination. Additionally, Oxford had previously won three matches against Alabama schools, setting the stage for their continued dominance. Their next challenge will be a district match against Lewisburg.

Boys Singles and Doubles Domination

In the boys singles category, Oxford’s Andrew Koestler delivered an impressive performance by defeating Bradyn Bowman with scores of 6-2 and 6-1. This win set the tone for the rest of the day. Oxford also excelled in boys doubles, where Tal Turner and Van Turner emerged victorious over Hunter Henson and Gregory Nelson with scores of 6-1 and 6-1.
