Unraveling Tulisa's Health and Cosmetic Surgery Story
Health Struggles and Bell's Palsy
Tulisa's journey with health began in her early 20s when she first experienced a "tingling sensation like little ants crawling in my face." At around 24 years old, she had her first Bell's palsy attack. Sitting at home, she noticed a huge burst of inflammation on her cheek, similar to having an abscess. She immediately went to a doctor who prescribed antibiotics and steroid injections. The inflammation went down, but she was left with mild swelling that lasted for seven months. During this time, she hid at home, not wanting to go out.Even after seven months, her face still wasn't right, and she resorted to getting fillers to try and balance it out. This led to a vicious cycle that she described. Over the next two years, she regained most of her facial movement until another attack during the N-Dubz reunion. She would have good and bad days, sometimes taking steroids to bring down the swelling. During the N Dubz run, her face would appear normal in some interviews and then show signs of the condition in others.Dealing with Infected Cysts
Later, a doctor found three infected cysts in her cheek during an ultrasound. These cysts caused swelling, and one even "popped" when the GP inspected it. Tulisa had no idea what caused them as they weren't fillers but self-occurring. After the operation to remove the cysts, her face was less swollen instantly. In the past, Tulisa has confirmed having filler in her lips and cheek, which has made her look different from her time on X-Factor. Her story serves as a reminder of the complex relationship between health and appearance.
