Unleash the Passion for Charlotte 49ers Baseball in 2025
Starting at Home
Charlotte kicks off the season with seven of its first eight games at home. From February 14-16, they face Northeastern in the first-ever meeting on the baseball diamond. On February 18, they have their first midweek game on the road at NCAA-qualifying Wofford. The following weekend, they host their most-played rival, Old Dominion. Then, on February 25, they host Longwood in the first home midweek game of the season. This home stretch provides a great opportunity for the team to build momentum and connect with their fans. The energy at home games at The Hayes is palpable. The fans come out in full force, creating an electric atmosphere that fuels the players. It's a time when the 49ers can showcase their skills and prove themselves against tough opponents.Taking It on the Road
After the Longwood midweek, Charlotte heads out on the road. From February 28 to March 2, they have a weekend series at Arkansas. Arkansas entered the NCAA Tournament last year as the No. 5 seed, making this series a significant challenge. It's the Green and White's first weekend series against an SEC opponent since 2018.Coming back home the following weekend, they host James Madison (March 7-9). Then, they have a split double midweek with an away game at App State on March 11, followed by a home contest against Davidson on March 12. Over the weekend (March 16), they travel to UNCW. A midweek game at home against App State follows on March 18 before conference play starts. These road trips test the team's resilience and ability to perform in different environments.Conference Weekends
Charlotte opens its American Athletic Conference slate at home against UTSA (March 21-23). They then travel to Memphis (March 28-30) for their first road games in Memphis since 2005 when both teams were members of Conference USA. Wichita State visits the Queen City for the first time the following weekend to open April (April 4-6). East Carolina makes its first trip to The Hayes since 2020 (March 11-13) as part of an eight-game homestand for the 49ers – their longest of the season. They also host Florida Atlantic (April 25-27) and UAB (May 9-11) in conference play while traveling to South Florida (April 17-19), Rice (May 2-4), and Tulane (May 15-17) to round out the 10 AAC weekends. Ending the regular season at the Green Wave will be a new experience for the team as it marks their first time on the road since 2018.Second-Half Midweeks
After starting conference play against UTSA, Charlotte hosts Campbell in a midweek game on March 25. This is the first of two with the Fighting Camels before they head on the road to face them in Buies Creek to end the month on April 29.The long homestand begins after the Memphis weekend with a home midweek against Liberty on April 1 and continues with a midweek against Gardner-Webb in between the Wichita State and ECU series. The streak finally ends with another visit to Chapel Hill to take on the Tar Heels on April 15 before hosting Kennesaw State one week later. In May, they are at home against a pair of Big South opponents, hosting High Point on the 6th and UNC Asheville on the 13th. These midweek games add variety to the schedule and keep the team sharp.NCAA Tournament Teams
Eight of the 25 opponents on Charlotte’s schedule qualified for the postseason last year, accounting for 18 of the 55 games. North Carolina reached the College World Series in Omaha after hosting a Super Regional as the No. 4 seed. Arkansas (No. 5) and East Carolina (No. 16) also earned Regional-hosting privileges.Other teams qualifying for last year’s tournament on the 2025 schedule are Wofford (SoCon Champs), James Madson (at-large), UNCW (CAA Champs), Tulane (AAC Champs), and High Point (Big South Champs). These teams bring a high level of competition and add to the excitement of the season.Conference Championships
Once again, the American Athletic Conference Championships will take place in Clearwater, Florida, at BayCare Ballpark – Spring Training home of the Philadelphia Phillies and home of the Phillies’ Single-A affiliate, the Clearwater Threshers.
