The collegiate baseball world is abuzz as Selection Monday approaches, but before the ultimate field of 64 teams is unveiled, the focus shifts to the intense competition of conference tournaments, particularly the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Tournament. Scheduled to commence on Tuesday in Charlotte, the ACC Tournament is a crucial stage for many teams, with some needing a strong showing to secure their spot in the national tournament.

This year, all 16 ACC teams with baseball programs are participating, excluding Syracuse and SMU. The top four regular-season performers—Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Florida State, and Boston College—have earned byes directly into the Quarterfinals. The subsequent four teams, Miami, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, and Virginia, advance to the second round, while the remaining eight teams will battle it out in the initial round. The tournament features a single-elimination format, culminating in the championship game on Sunday. Georgia Tech enters the tournament as a formidable contender, having achieved a historic regular season and boasting impressive offensive statistics, including leading all of collegiate baseball in several categories such as batting average, hits, on-base percentage, scoring, and slugging percentage.

However, North Carolina, ranked second nationally, poses a significant challenge, having won two out of three games against Georgia Tech during their regular-season series. The tournament has already seen some intense matchups, with Duke, Stanford, Notre Dame, and Pittsburgh securing victories in the first round. As the competition progresses, the favorites will strive to maintain their dominance, while other teams will look to defy expectations and make a Cinderella run.
