Austin Forkner, a prominent figure in professional motorcycle racing, has declared his departure from both AMA Supercross and Motocross competitions. His decision comes after a career marked by significant achievements and a series of challenging injuries, emphasizing a shift in focus towards personal well-being and family.

Forkner's career began in 2016, where he quickly became known for his innate talent on the track, particularly in AMA Supercross. Over his ten-year tenure, he secured an impressive 13 main event wins in the 250SX class, alongside seven additional podium finishes. In the 250 Class of Pro Motocross, he claimed an overall victory at Ironman Raceway and six other top-three results. His journey included joining Triumph Factory Racing for the 2025 season, riding the TF 250-X, and later making history in 2026 as the inaugural rider of the TF 450-X in the premier 450SX division. Beyond his competitive records, Forkner's resilience in overcoming serious injuries, including a complex brain surgery for an unrelated medical condition, earned him widespread admiration and made him a beloved figure among fans and peers.

The choice to step away from racing was a deeply personal one for Forkner, influenced by a recent crash in Colorado and the cumulative physical and mental strain of the sport. He expressed that while he initially aimed to complete the current year, his perspective changed, prioritizing his health and family's needs above the continued demands of racing. Triumph Factory Racing's General Manager, Jeremy Coker, and Head of Global Racing Programmes, Ian Kimber, both commended Forkner for his distinguished career and expressed full support for his decision, highlighting his courage and tenacity throughout his racing journey.

Austin Forkner's retirement from professional motorcycle racing stands as a poignant reminder of the personal sacrifices and profound dedication demanded by elite sports. His decision to prioritize health and family over the relentless pursuit of victory exemplifies a mature and courageous perspective. It underscores the importance of well-being beyond the arena, inspiring athletes and fans alike to consider the broader context of life and personal fulfillment.
