Rice is set to compete alongside Tampa Bay Rays' sensation Junior Caminero as the inaugural participants confirmed for the Home Run Derby. The much-anticipated event is scheduled for Monday, taking place at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. The 27-year-old Rice aims to become the first Yankees player to clinch the Home Run Derby title since Aaron Judge's victory in 2017, following in the footsteps of previous Yankees champions Tino Martinez (1997), Jason Giambi (2002), and Robinson Cano (2011).
Currently, Rice is having an outstanding season, leading the Yankees in several key offensive categories, including batting average (.267), home runs (25), and runs batted in (57).
