The contract details, while not officially disclosed by the Rangers, were widely reported by major sports outlets such as The Athletic and the New York Post. The impending arbitration hearing, initially set for July 29, has now been averted. This strategic move ensures that Schneider will remain a restricted free agent next summer, retaining his arbitration rights for future negotiations.
Last season, the 24-year-old Schneider demonstrated exceptional performance, participating in all 82 games. He recorded a total of 18 points, comprising two goals and 16 assists. His defensive contributions were particularly noteworthy; he led the Rangers in blocked shots with 140 and was third on the team in hits with 163. These statistics place him among an elite group of NHL players, as he was one of only three individuals in the 2025-26 season to achieve at least 160 hits and 140 blocked shots. Furthermore, the Prince Albert, Saskatchewan native also achieved a personal best in average ice time, clocking in at 20 minutes and 27 seconds per game.
Schneider's journey with the Rangers began after he was selected 19th overall in the 2020 NHL Draft.
