Capitals Secure Prolific Scorer Jordan Kyrou
The Washington Capitals have made a major move, bringing in Jordan Kyrou, a renowned goal-scorer from the St. Louis Blues. This acquisition is expected to significantly enhance the Capitals' offensive capabilities as they aim for a stronger performance in the upcoming seasons.
Kyrou's Stellar Career with the Blues
Jordan Kyrou, aged 28, enjoyed a remarkable tenure with the St. Louis Blues, amassing 168 goals over eight seasons. His impressive record includes three consecutive seasons where he scored over 30 goals, from 2022-23 to 2024-25, showcasing his consistent scoring prowess. However, his performance saw a dip in the 2025-26 season, where he netted 18 goals in 72 games.
McMichael's Contribution to the Capitals
In return for Kyrou, the St. Louis Blues will receive center Connor McMichael. McMichael has played in parts of six seasons with the Capitals, completing four full campaigns. During his time, he recorded 67 goals and 87 assists in 315 games, also demonstrating a solid 43% success rate on faceoffs throughout his career.
Gastrin Joins Blues' Prospect Pool
Further bolstering the Blues' future prospects, Milton Gastrin, a 2025 second-round draft pick, is also part of the trade package. Gastrin, who initially remained in Sweden after being drafted, made his North American debut in the 2026 AHL playoffs, appearing in one game for the Hershey Bears.

The trade also sees the Washington Capitals send their No. 16 overall pick to the St. Louis Blues.
