In response to recent roster changes, the Arizona Cardinals extended invitations to six free agents for tryouts. Among the linebackers evaluated was Eugene Asante, an undrafted player from 2025 who previously spent time with the Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, and Atlanta Falcons practice squads. Asante also played in the UFL for the Houston Gamblers, where he recorded 34 tackles, four tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles. Curtis Jacobs, an undrafted rookie from Penn State in 2024, was another linebacker in attendance. He had stints with the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots, appearing in nine games for the latter. Triston Newson, a rookie free agent out of Missouri, also participated after receiving several minicamp tryout invites.
For the tight end positions, the Cardinals considered Shawn Bowman, who previously spent time on the Jacksonville Jaguars' practice squad and played for the Orlando Storm in the UFL. Baylor Cupp, a 2024 rookie free agent who was on the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad and played in one game, also tried out, most recently with the Arlington Renegades in the UFL. Finally, Bryce Pierre, a rookie free agent from last year with the Carolina Panthers, who was placed on injured reserve and later received an injury settlement, completed the group of tight end prospects.
