The encounter between Carl Albert and Bishop McGuinness took place on Friday night at Pribil Stadium. Carl Albert, holding the top ranking, faced McGuinness, ranked second, in a game that football enthusiasts had keenly awaited. The Titans had previously triumphed over McGuinness with a score of 48-7 in the previous year's title game, setting high expectations for this rematch.

Two athletes particularly stood out during the contest: Delijah Matthews and Tylir Simmons. Matthews, a senior who has committed to UNLV, showcased his versatility and skill as a running back for Carl Albert. He accumulated 91 rushing yards on 22 carries, scoring one touchdown. In a pivotal moment that sealed the victory, Matthews also recovered a fumble and returned it 30 yards for another touchdown with only 43 seconds left, pushing Carl Albert's lead to 20-8.

Tylir Simmons, a junior defensive back, also delivered a stellar performance. He ignited his team with an electrifying 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Furthermore, Simmons contributed significantly to the defense, making a crucial interception during the game.

A defining moment occurred late in the game when senior defensive lineman Elijah Thomas stripped the ball from McGuinness' senior quarterback Gage Chance during a fourth-down sack. This play directly led to Matthews' fumble return for a touchdown, effectively putting the game out of reach for Bishop McGuinness and solidifying Carl Albert's victory.

With this latest triumph, Carl Albert's impressive winning streak now stands at 56 consecutive games. The team is steadily approaching the Oklahoma high school football 11-man record for consecutive victories, currently held by Bixby with 58 wins. This sustained success is a testament to the team's consistent performance and the caliber of its players and coaching staff.
