In the recent Central Massachusetts girls' lacrosse season, several athletes delivered remarkable performances, captivating fans and sports enthusiasts. After a week of intense competition and noteworthy achievements, the community actively participated in selecting the Hometeam Girls' Lacrosse Player of the Week through a public poll.
Grafton's Brooke Willar emerged as the top honoree in the weekly survey, securing a significant majority of the votes. Her exceptional play garnered 8,780 votes, surpassing formidable competitors such as St. Bernard's Emily Terho, who received 7,169 votes, and Tyngsborough's Kenley Gustafson, with 3,171 votes. Other notable mentions from the week include Sydney Balewicz of Nashoba, who scored five goals and three assists in an 18-6 victory, and Kara Bennett from North Middlesex, who contributed seven goals and two assists in a 16-7 win. Caroline Caiozzo of Bromfield School, Morgan Charbonnier of Hopedale, and Shea Domolky of Algonquin also delivered impressive statistics, showcasing their skill and dedication on the field. Further outstanding efforts came from Maille Fluharty of St. Bernard's, Mackenzie Gage of Westborough, Juliette Gelinas of Oakmont, and Kelley Gustafson of Tyngsborough, who each demonstrated remarkable offensive prowess and strategic play in their respective matches.
