The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly bringing back veteran defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah, securing his services with a one-year contract, as first broadcast by ESPN.
Ogbah, a 32-year-old free agent, is no stranger to the Chiefs organization, having been a part of their roster in 2019, the season culminating in their triumphant Super Bowl LIV win. Most recently, Ogbah spent the 2025 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he participated in 13 games, starting three, and tallied 15 tackles. His extensive NFL career boasts impressive statistics, including 48 sacks, 116 quarterback pressures, 332 total tackles, nine forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, and two interceptions over 136 games, 90 of which he started. Drafted by the Cleveland Browns as the first pick in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Ogbah has also played for the Miami Dolphins from 2020 to 2024, in addition to his time with the Browns, Chiefs, and Jaguars.
This reacquisition signifies the Chiefs' strategic move to bolster their defensive line with an experienced player who is already familiar with the team's culture and system. Ogbah's return is expected to inject both leadership and proven on-field performance, enhancing the team's prospects for future success. His journey through various NFL franchises has equipped him with a broad range of experience, and his return to Kansas City could prove to be a pivotal moment for both the player and the team.
