The Rangers had reportedly explored options to trade the two-time Cy Young Award winner to a playoff-contending team, with the Atlanta Braves frequently cited as a potential destination. However, deGrom, who possesses complete authority over any trade discussions under his five-year, $185 million agreement signed in December 2022, ultimately chose to remain in Texas.
