Sevier County's standout tight end, Parker Newman, has officially committed to Duke University, a decision he announced on his social media platform. This commitment follows a period of intense recruitment where Newman attracted interest from numerous elite college football programs across the nation.

Throughout the winter and spring seasons, Newman's recruitment profile soared, leading to a flurry of impressive scholarship offers. Among the prestigious institutions vying for his talent were collegiate powerhouses such as the University of Tennessee, the University of Alabama, the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, and Penn State University. His choice of Duke highlights the program's growing appeal and ability to secure top-tier athletic talent.

Standing at an imposing 6-foot-3 and weighing 215 pounds, Newman is recognized as a four-star recruit. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, he is identified as the 16th-best prospect in the state of Tennessee and ranks as the 20th-best tight end in the highly competitive Class of 2027. These rankings underscore his exceptional skill and potential impact at the collegiate level.
