Former Iowa women's basketball player, Kennise Johnson, has officially committed to transferring to the University of Delaware. Hailing from the Chicago area as a promising prospect from the 2023 class, Johnson initially joined a formidable Iowa backcourt, which was gearing up for a successful run that culminated in a Final Four appearance in 2024. However, her freshman season was abruptly cut short by an ACL tear. This unfortunate injury not only ended her debut year prematurely but also forced her to miss the entirety of the subsequent 2024-25 season, impacting her ability to maintain consistent health and playing time.
Throughout her time with the Hawkeyes, Johnson participated in a total of 20 games—14 during her freshman year and six in the most recent season.
