The University of Maryland men's lacrosse program, known for its distinguished history, is once again celebrating the achievements of its alumni as five former players have been named to the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) All-Star Game. This recognition underscores the consistent excellence of the Terrapins' athletic development.
Highlighting the selections, Brett Makar and Ajax Zappitello are set to start for the Eastern Conference. Makar, a defensive stalwart for the New York Atlas, has demonstrated remarkable ability this season with 14 turnovers caused and 24 ground balls secured. Zappitello, who inherited Makar’s prestigious No. 1 jersey at Maryland, continues to impress with the Maryland Whipsnakes, tallying 10 turnovers caused and 10 ground balls. Additionally, Matt Dunn, a 2016 Maryland graduate, joins them on the Eastern All-Stars, providing a strong defensive presence alongside Zappitello. For the Western Conference, Logan Wisnauskas, a 2022 Tewaaraton Award recipient and one of Maryland's most prolific attackers, will be a starter. With 14 goals in five games for the Denver Outlaws, Wisnauskas continues to build upon his collegiate record as the Terp with the most career goals. His former teammate, Jared Bernhardt, also an offensive force, has contributed 10 goals this season for the Outlaws, further solidifying Maryland's impact in the league.
