FSU Baseball Acquires Promising Outfielder Ty Peeples via Transfer Portal

Florida State University's baseball program has strengthened its roster with the acquisition of Ty Peeples, a skilled outfielder formerly with the Georgia Bulldogs, who recently announced his commitment to the Seminoles via social media.

Peeples, a highly-rated recruit in the 2025 class from Lavonia, Georgia, participated in 32 games during his freshman season with the Bulldogs, starting once. During his tenure, he recorded 5 hits in 17 at-bats, including two doubles, three RBIs, and scored nine runs. He also drew six walks and had six strikeouts. Possessing good speed, he successfully stole three bases. Defensively, he posted an .889 fielding percentage with one error. As the first outfielder added by FSU through the transfer portal this offseason, Peeples is anticipated to contend for a regular starting role.

In addition to his collegiate career, Peeples was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 20th round of the 2025 MLB Draft. Perfect Game recognized his talent, ranking him as the top player in Georgia and the No. 10 outfielder in his class for 2025. He joins pitcher Cameron Suchy and two-way player Jackson McKenzie as FSU's third transfer commitment this period. Although his time on the field at Georgia was restricted, the Seminoles aim to cultivate Peeples' considerable potential and integrate him effectively into their squad.

The acquisition of Ty Peeples underscores FSU's strategic approach to enhancing its baseball team through the transfer market. By bringing in athletes with high potential and a proven track record, even if their previous playing time was limited, the program demonstrates a commitment to fostering talent and building a competitive roster. This move not only adds depth and skill to the team but also provides a renewed opportunity for a promising young player to thrive and make a significant impact in a new environment, embodying the spirit of growth and aspiration in collegiate athletics.
