Extensive Roster and Coaching Staff Overhauls
The offseason witnessed a whirlwind of activity for the Seminoles, characterized by a comprehensive overhaul of both their player roster and coaching personnel. A significant number of players, 35 in total, departed the team through transfer, while 33 new talents were brought in to fill these vacancies. Additionally, the program welcomed 34 high school recruits, signaling a complete reshaping of the team's composition.
Reinstatement of Norvell's Play-Calling and New Coaching Appointments
A notable shift within the coaching structure is Mike Norvell's return to offensive play-calling duties, a role he is undertaking following Gus Malzahn's retirement as offensive coordinator. The Seminoles experienced considerable attrition, particularly in their secondary with the transfers of players like Little (Ohio State) and Edwin Joseph (Ole Miss), and linebacker Justin Cryer's move to Texas. Additionally, two of the top four pass-catchers, Lawayne McCoy and Randy Pittman Jr., transferred to conference rivals. In total, 33 scholarship players exited via the portal.
