A group of prominent international footballers, including German stars Thomas Müller and Mats Hummels, has invested in the Portuguese club Estrela Amadora. The investment was made through an international consortium, spearheaded by ADvantage and LEAD investment firms, which has acquired a 90% majority stake in Estrela Amadora's holding company. Alongside Müller and Hummels, Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer and French defender Lucas Hernandez are also part of this strategic alliance. This new ownership group is composed of investors with extensive backgrounds in sports, finance, and technology, bringing a wealth of expertise to the club.
With this new chapter, Johannes Mösmang, previously a key figure in the professional players' department at Bayern Munich for a decade, will assume the presidency of Estrela Amadora's SAD (Sociedade Anónima Desportiva). The new leadership's primary focus will be on ensuring the club's sustained growth, enhancing its sporting performance, and establishing a robust foundation for long-term success. Estrela Amadora recently returned to Portugal's top football division in the 2023-24 season, concluding their last campaign in 15th place.
