Hadjar Disqualified from Miami Grand Prix Qualifying

A recent inspection following the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix qualifying session led to the disqualification of Isack Hadjar. His RB22's floor was found to be two millimeters longer than permissible under the 2026 technical regulations. This technical breach means Hadjar, who initially placed eighth, will now begin Sunday’s Miami Grand Prix from the very last position on the grid.

This penalty marked a challenging day for Hadjar, despite his Red Bull team introducing significant upgrades to their RB22. While these enhancements helped teammate Max Verstappen secure a second-place start, Hadjar struggled, finishing more than eight-tenths of a second behind Verstappen. He voiced his frustrations after the session, noting the car’s difficulty and a lack of straight-line speed on the "tricky" track with low grip and high temperatures, conditions he found vastly different from previous rounds.

Amidst these events, Kimi Antonelli secured the pole position, aiming to extend his strong performance in the Drivers' Championship. Lando Norris, after winning both pole position and the F1 Sprint Race, is slated to start fourth. Hadjar's experience is a stark reminder that even in top-tier motorsports, precision and adherence to rules are paramount, and the journey to success is often fraught with unexpected challenges, demanding resilience and continuous adaptation from athletes and teams alike.
