The Honaker Tigers football squad is embarking on a fresh campaign, driven by aspirations to surpass their achievements from the previous year, which saw them reach the VHSL Region 1-D semifinals. The team's foundation is anchored by the return of quarterback Parker Lowe, who, in his freshman year, remarkably passed for over 3,200 yards and scored 44 touchdowns, demonstrating exceptional promise and leadership. He will be supported by a strong offensive lineup, including senior wide receiver Levi Honaker, who contributed significantly with 40 receptions for 545 yards and 11 touchdowns, and senior running back Cole Morrison, adding depth and versatility to their attack.
Reflecting on their journey, the Tigers acknowledge that an initial 0-3 start last season played a pivotal role in forging their resilience and improving team cohesion. Lowe highlighted the strength of their receiving unit, noting their dedication and the impressive physical attributes of several players, including three receivers standing at 6'5", complemented by agile, speedy route-runners.
