Legacy Motor Club and Arrow McLaren Join Forces for Indy 500 Bid

This year's 110th Indianapolis 500 will feature a significant collaboration as Jimmie Johnson's Legacy Motor Club allies with Arrow McLaren. Their joint effort focuses on supporting 2014 Indy 500 champion Ryan Hunter-Reay, who will pilot the No. 31 Chevrolet. Brian Campe, currently the Director of Advanced Engineering at Legacy Motor Club, will take on the crucial role of race strategist for Hunter-Reay. Campe brings valuable experience, having previously guided Juan Pablo Montoya to an Indy 500 victory in 2015 as both strategist and lead engineer. This marks a continued involvement for Johnson in the Indy 500, even as he dedicates his primary attention to his NASCAR operations.

The No. 31 team will also benefit from the expertise of Olivier Boisson, Arrow McLaren's Head of Damper Engineering, who previously contributed to Tony Kanaan's 2013 Indy 500 winning team. He will serve as Hunter-Reay's Race Engineer. Didier Francesia, Shop Crew Chief at Arrow McLaren, will also join the No. 31 crew, aiming for his third career Indy 500 victory. Adding to the team's strength, Arrow McLaren has secured GXO Logistics and the Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) as official partners for Hunter-Reay's entry. These partnerships underscore a shared commitment to precision and teamwork, with GXO Logistics emphasizing how their expertise in complex operations aligns with the demands of elite motorsports, and ASYMCA aiming to raise awareness for military families.

Ryan Hunter-Reay, a veteran with a rich history in IndyCar racing including 18 victories and 47 podium finishes across 21 seasons, returns to the Indianapolis 500 with high hopes. Known as 'Captain America,' he was a strong contender in last year's race, leading for 48 laps before a fuel issue ended his charge. This year, with the strategic support of Legacy Motor Club and the new partnerships, Hunter-Reay and the Arrow McLaren team are poised for a formidable challenge. Their collective efforts embody the spirit of perseverance and teamwork essential for success in 'The Greatest Spectacle in Racing,' highlighting how diverse talents and strategic alliances can converge to pursue victory in one of motorsport's most iconic events.
