Mid-Hudson Collegiate Women's Volleyball: Army and Mount Saint Mary Showcase Strong Starts

The collegiate women's volleyball season for the Mid-Hudson region began in August and is set to conclude in mid-November. The participating institutions include Army and Marist in NCAA Division I, SUNY New Paltz and Mount Saint Mary in NCAA Division III, and SUNY Orange and SUNY Ulster competing in NJCAA Division III/Region XV.

Key teams have demonstrated varied performances early in the season. Army has achieved a commendable 6-3 record, while Mount Saint Mary boasts an impressive undefeated 6-0 start. Marist currently stands at 4-6. Looking ahead, Army's schedule includes matches against Loyola, American, Colgate, Holy Cross, Bucknell, Lafayette, Navy, and Lehigh. Marist is set to face Oakland, Illinois State, New Haven, Rider, Saint Peter's, Siena, Iona, and Manhattan. SUNY New Paltz has upcoming games against Mount Saint Vincent, Baruch, Ramapo, John Jay, Moravian, Alfred University, Montclair State, William Paterson, Union, and Plattsburgh. Mount Saint Mary will compete against Ramapo, Centenary, Amherst, Hartford, Bard, Clark, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. SUNY Orange has not yet reported their match outcomes.

Recent match results reveal that Hartford defeated New Paltz 3-0, Mount Saint Mary secured a 3-0 victory over Lehman, and Hofstra triumphed over Army with a 3-2 score. Marist defeated Bryant 3-1, while Springfield beat New Paltz 3-0. New Paltz also achieved a 3-1 win against Colby-Sawyer, and Mount Saint Mary secured two 3-0 victories against Western Connecticut and City College of New York. Other notable results include Fairfield defeating Army 3-0, Army beating Liberty 3-0, and Marist winning against Fordham 3-1 and Bryant 3-1. Vassar overcame New Paltz 3-2, Holy Cross beat Marist 3-1, and Mount Saint Mary defeated Hunter 3-0. Army emerged victorious in the UTSA tournament, including a 3-0 win against Texas-Arlington. Denver defeated Marist 3-1, and Batten beat Mount Saint Mary 3-0. Millikin defeated New Paltz 3-1, while Mount Saint Mary beat Pratt 3-0. Army secured wins against Kent State and Sam Houston with 3-0 scores. Marist won against Southern Illinois 3-1, while William Peace and Wisconsin-La Crosse both defeated New Paltz 3-1. Idaho won against Marist 3-2. Mount Saint Mary defeated Albertus Magnus 3-0, and New Paltz won against Western Connecticut 3-1. Army secured wins against Albany 3-2 and Sacred Heart 3-1. Montana State defeated Marist 3-2, and Delaware and Lafayette both defeated Marist 3-0. Iowa triumphed over Army 3-0.
