Major League Soccer has initiated a formal inquiry into Inter Miami concerning allegations of tampering in their recent signing of Brazilian midfield star Casemiro. The league confirmed that it is actively collecting all relevant details and will withhold further statements until the investigation concludes.
The 34-year-old Casemiro, whose contract with Manchester United extended through 2027 with an option until June 2029, made the move to Inter Miami. This transfer involved Inter Miami acquiring his discovery priority from the Los Angeles Galaxy. MLS has indicated that while the two clubs have settled on the discovery priority for Casemiro, the specifics of this agreement will be disclosed only after the tampering investigation is resolved.
