The 2026 Muskingum Valley League Postseason Golf Tournament, held on Friday, September 18th, at the picturesque Cambridge Country Club, concluded with River View High School securing a dominant victory. Their exceptional team effort saw them post an impressive score of 290, clearly outpacing their rivals. Notable individual performances from River View included Colton Gress with an outstanding 69, Gavin Gress with a strong 71, and Lucas Massa and Clark Frischen both contributing 75s. West Muskingum claimed the second position with a total of 324, led by Hayden Lambert's solid 72, demonstrating fierce competition throughout the event. John Glenn High School finished closely behind in third place, recording a score of 326, with Will Hubal leading their charge with a 75.
The tournament also saw Maysville secure fourth place with a score of 327, followed by Sheridan and Tri-Valley, who tied for fifth with 332 each. These results underscore the depth of talent within the MVL, as several schools showcased competitive performances. Crooksville, Meadowbrook, New Lexington, Philo, and Morgan rounded out the top finishers, each demonstrating their commitment to the sport despite facing strong opposition. The final standings reflect a season of hard work and dedication from all participating teams, setting the stage for future golfing endeavors.
In recognition of individual excellence, the All-Muskingum Valley League honors were bestowed upon the top 15 golfers based on their Match Performance Rating. Gavin Gress of River View led this prestigious list, followed by his teammates Colton Gress, Lucas Massa, and Clark Frischen, highlighting River View’s exceptional individual talent in addition to their team prowess. Hayden Lambert from West Muskingum also earned a top spot, alongside Will Hubal of John Glenn, and other standout athletes from various schools, including Cale Preston, Logan Ward, Liam Gutridge, Dylan Hreha, Ethan Wright, Oliver Lutz, Wyatt Satterfield, Hayden Hardcastle, and Tyler Hindel. Their inclusion in this esteemed list celebrates their consistent high-level play and contributions to their respective teams throughout the tournament.
