Nashville Predators Sign Jack Drury to Five-Year Contract After Trade

The Nashville Predators have officially secured forward Jack Drury with a substantial five-year contract worth $22.5 million. This significant agreement was reached on Sunday night, merely four days after the Predators completed a trade with the Colorado Avalanche to acquire the promising player.

Drury, at 26 years old, had an impressive season with the Avalanche, participating in all 82 regular-season matches. During this period, he achieved a personal best of 10 goals and matched his career-high of 27 points. His acquisition by Nashville on Wednesday was part of a trade package that also included forward prospect Chase Bradley, in exchange for Zachary L'Heureux and Fedor Svechkov. Chris MacFarland, General Manager and President of Hockey Operations for the Predators, expressed enthusiasm about the new addition, highlighting Drury's work ethic, reliability, and exceptional face-off skills, which are expected to significantly boost the team's depth at the center position. Drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2018 in the second round, Drury has accumulated 30 goals and 52 assists over 268 regular-season games with both the Hurricanes (2021-2025) and the Avalanche (2025-2026). Notably, his 58.1% face-off win rate ranked fifth among players with 900 or more face-offs in the league, underscoring his prowess in this critical aspect of the game.

This signing represents a strategic investment by the Nashville Predators, not only enhancing their competitive edge on the ice but also demonstrating a commitment to building a robust and talented roster for future seasons. Such moves are vital for fostering team cohesion and achieving sustained success in the demanding environment of professional hockey, inspiring both players and fans alike toward greater accomplishments.
