The National Football League has announced a six-game suspension for Tennessee Titans defensive back Nazeeh Johnson due to a violation of the league's Performance-Enhancing Substances Policy.
Johnson joined the Titans roster at the beginning of the current training camp, following a move that saw cornerback Latrell McCutchin waived. During his tenure with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he was a seventh-round pick in 2022, Johnson played in 29 games over four years, starting six in 2024. He displayed promising early performance with the Titans, recording five tackles in the inaugural preseason game against San Francisco and reportedly securing an interception during a joint practice session with the 49ers. Titans General Manager Mike Borgonzi was already familiar with Johnson from their shared time in Kansas City.
Despite the suspension, Johnson is permitted to participate in all preseason activities, including practices and games. Should he secure a spot on the Titans' active roster after training camp, his first opportunity to play in a regular-season game will be on October 25 against the Cleveland Browns. This means he will miss crucial early-season matchups against teams like the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, and Indianapolis Colts.
