Pakistan to Host ODI Tri-Series Featuring England and Sri Lanka

Pakistan is preparing to stage a six-match One Day International (ODI) tri-series, bringing together the national teams of England and Sri Lanka. This exciting cricket event is scheduled to run from October 18 to 31, as confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The tournament venues will be Rawalpindi and Lahore, with the pinnacle event, the final, taking place at Gaddafi Stadium on October 31.

The series will commence with Pakistan facing Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi on October 18, followed by Pakistan's clash with England at the same location two days later. Sri Lanka and England will then compete on October 22. Subsequently, the action will relocate to Lahore, where Pakistan will challenge England on October 25 and Sri Lanka on October 27. The final league match between Sri Lanka and England is slated for October 29, with the top two teams advancing to the championship match. This marks Pakistan's second ODI tri-series within two years, having previously hosted New Zealand and South Africa prior to the 2025 Champions Trophy.

This tri-series is embedded within a demanding international schedule for all three participating nations. Sri Lanka's tour of Pakistan will begin with a three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series in Rawalpindi on October 9, 11, and 13. Following the ODI tournament, Sri Lanka will engage in a three-day match in Islamabad from November 4 to 6, before a two-Test series against Pakistan, which is a component of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27. The first Test is scheduled for Rawalpindi from November 9 to 13, with the second Test in Lahore from November 17 to 21. This will be Pakistan's second home Test series of the current WTC cycle, succeeding South Africa's two-Test tour last October.

The upcoming tri-series and the broader cricketing calendar highlight the growing dynamism and international engagement within the sport. These events not only provide thrilling competition for fans but also foster global camaraderie and sportsmanship, reinforcing cricket's positive impact worldwide.
