The race, initially slated for Sunday after the World Cup final, was rescheduled when severe storms swept across Nashville Superspeedway. After a brief period of clear skies allowed for track drying, another series of downpours made Sunday racing impossible. Palou, who enjoyed Spain's 1-0 victory over Argentina for their second World Cup title, expressed his delight at winning on a Monday, a first in his career. This win propelled the 29-year-old closer to securing his fourth consecutive series championship and fifth in six years, increasing his lead over David Malukas by 83 points with six races remaining.
Driving his No. 10 DHL Chip Ganassi Racing Honda, Palou crossed the finish line 0.8731 seconds ahead of the reigning Nashville champion, Josef Newgarden. Newgarden's teammate, David Malukas, secured third place, showcasing a remarkable recovery after a practice crash. Malukas, 24, overcame a knee injury sustained in a Saturday practice session, moving from the back of the grid to claim a podium finish, leading 59 laps in the process.
