Henigan brings a background with previous stints at the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars. During his four seasons with the Tigers, Henigan showcased significant talent, throwing 104 touchdowns in 50 games, including a remarkable 32 touchdowns in 2023, which led the American Conference.
In addition to Henigan, the Steelers evaluated six other free agents. These included wide receivers Cam Camper and Jakobie Keeney-James. Camper, who played for Boise State, recorded 58 receptions and four touchdowns in 2023, and also played with the Orlando Storm in the UFL, securing 25 passes and three touchdowns. Keeney-James, formerly with the Green Bay Packers, caught two passes in his single NFL appearance last season. The team also considered tight ends Zach Davidson and Heinrich Haarberg. Davidson has played for the New York Giants and Buffalo Bills after being drafted by the Minnesota Vikings. Haarberg had eight receptions at the University of Nebraska and briefly spent time with the Carolina Panthers. Rounding out the group were running backs Jarveon Howard and Ja'Quinden Jackson, and defensive back Keenan Garber, who has been on the Detroit Lions' practice squad and recorded two collegiate interceptions.
