Rising Tennis Star Quinn Sampeer Commits to Mount Aloysius College

Somerset Area High School's senior tennis sensation, Quinn Sampeer, has announced her commitment to Mount Aloysius College, where she will continue her athletic and academic pursuits. Sampeer, who began playing tennis just a few years ago in high school, quickly developed into a formidable player through sheer dedication and a competitive spirit. Her decision to join the Division III program at Mount Aloysius will reunite her with former Somerset assistant coach Matthew Jacobs, whom she looks forward to playing under once again.

Sampeer expressed her enthusiasm for Mount Aloysius, highlighting its smaller campus environment which she believes will facilitate a balanced focus on her studies and sports. Beyond her athletic prowess, Sampeer boasts an impressive 3.7 GPA and plans to pursue a degree in special education. Her commitment extends beyond the court; she is also the president of the Best Buddies Club, an organization dedicated to fostering friendships between students with and without intellectual disabilities, and an active member of other school clubs like Students Against Destructive Decisions and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

The young athlete is particularly eager to forge new connections with her future tennis teammates and build lasting friendships, as she embarks on this exciting new chapter. She credits her mother, Brooke Bordner, for unwavering support, her late former coach John Harris for sparking her love for the sport, and current coach Alex Minnick for enhancing her competitive edge. Minnick lauded Sampeer's work ethic and competitive nature, particularly noting her valuable contribution to doubles play, emphasizing her consistent ability to create winning opportunities for her partners.

Quinn Sampeer's journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and passion.
