The New Orleans Saints have officially announced the signing of Brock Rechsteiner, an undrafted wide receiver who impressed during the team's recent rookie minicamp. This addition expands the Saints' receiver pool, which also includes first-round selection Jordyn Tyson, fourth-round pick Bryce Lance, and sixth-rounder Barion Brown, highlighting the team's commitment to developing young talent.
Rechsteiner's Athletic Heritage and Collegiate Journey
Brock Rechsteiner comes from a distinguished athletic background, being the son of WWE and WCW icon Scott Steiner. His father, along with uncle Rick Steiner, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022 as part of the legendary 'Steiner Brothers' tag team. Brock himself forged a successful collegiate football career with the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in Conference USA over three seasons. During his tenure, he accumulated 53 receptions for 629 yards and 7 touchdowns, with his 2025 campaign being particularly noteworthy for 36 catches, 383 yards, and a team-leading 5 scores. Beyond his receiving skills, Rechsteiner is recognized for his robust run-blocking and valuable contributions to special teams' kick coverage.
Transitioning from Wrestling Endeavors to NFL Ambitions
Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 222 pounds, Rechsteiner possesses an impressive athletic profile, demonstrated by his 4.48-second 40-yard dash time. After going undrafted, he had an initial tryout with the Tennessee Titans before earning a second opportunity with the Saints. Interestingly, Rechsteiner had previously secured a deal with the WWE NIL (Next In Line) program, following in the footsteps of his cousin, Bron Breaker (Bronson Rechsteiner), who is the son of Rick Steiner and made his WWE debut in 2020. For the time being, Brock Rechsteiner will put his professional wrestling aspirations on hold as he dedicates himself to competing for a spot on the New Orleans Saints' roster at their upcoming training camp this summer.
