The Southwest Florida High School Sports Awards is set to return for its sixteenth annual celebration, an event dedicated to recognizing outstanding athletic achievements across the region. This prestigious gathering highlights the accomplishments of the finest high school athletes from various sports seasons, including fall, winter, and spring.
This year's ceremony will take place on May 27 at Alico Arena, situated on the campus of Florida Gulf Coast University. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with the awards program commencing an hour later. A notable change in this year's format is that the recipients of the awards have already been revealed following each respective high school sports season, departing from the previous tradition of announcing winners live at the event. These honored athletes have received personal notifications from the organizing staff, along with instructions for their attendance and RSVP.
Attendees can anticipate an evening filled with celebratory activities, including access to a photo booth, complimentary refreshments, and the much-anticipated awards presentation. Additionally, the Spring All-Area teams, encompassing sports such as Baseball, Beach Volleyball, Flag Football, Lacrosse, Softball, Tennis, Track & Field, and Boys Weightlifting, will be featured in publications starting May 26 on naplesnews.com and news-press.com, with further inclusion in the Sunday editions of The News Press and Naples Daily News on May 31 and June 7.
