Collins sustained a hamstring injury during a recent practice session, leaving a considerable gap in the team's offensive lineup.
Collins' Impactful Presence and Previous Performance
In the Texans' season opener against the Buffalo Bills, Collins demonstrated his pivotal role in the offense, leading the team with ten targets, securing seven receptions for 75 yards, and scoring a touchdown. His absence is particularly notable given his consistent performance, having achieved over 1,000 receiving yards in each of his last three seasons and setting a personal best with 120 targets last year.
Adjustments to the Texans' Offensive Strategy
With Collins out, tight end Dalton Schultz is expected to take on a more prominent role in the Texans' offensive scheme. Despite being the second-most targeted player in the opener with eight targets, Schultz managed only four receptions for 35 yards.
