His recovery process included five rehabilitation appearances with Triple-A Round Rock, where he demonstrated strong performance at the plate, hitting .333 (5-for-15) with one RBI, and effectively preventing both attempted base stealers.
Earlier in December, the Rangers secured Jansen through a free-agent deal, committing to a two-year, $14.5 million contract. Prior to his injury this season, he appeared in 41 games, recording a batting average of .171 (21-for-123), along with three home runs and 12 runs batted in. Throughout his professional career, Jansen holds a .216 batting average, accumulating 91 home runs and 268 RBIs across 639 regular-season contests, playing for multiple teams including the Toronto Blue Jays (2018-24), Boston Red Sox (2024), Tampa Bay Rays (2025), Milwaukee Brewers (2025), and now the Texas Rangers.
Austin Wynns, before his designation, had participated in 14 games for Texas, achieving an .276 batting average (8-for-29) with one home run and one RBI. This season, he also saw action with the Athletics (14 games) and the Atlanta Braves (six games), bringing his combined season batting average to .146 (12-for-82). Over his extensive career spanning eight teams, Wynns has a .230 batting average, 20 home runs, and 85 RBIs in 313 games.
