In an inspiring display of community engagement, John “Bones” Fassel, the esteemed special teams coordinator for the Tennessee Titans, recently spearheaded his eighth annual charity football camp. This significant event, conducted in collaboration with the Prison Fellowship Angel Tree program, was dedicated to providing a nurturing and enjoyable experience for over 150 children, aged between 7 and 17, whose parents are currently incarcerated. The camp offered a day filled with engaging activities, mentorship, and support, reinforcing the positive impact sports can have beyond the field.
While the Tennessee Titans took a scheduled break on a recent Saturday, Fassel, along with several dedicated players and coaches, dedicated their time to a meaningful cause. This annual initiative, now in its eighth year, saw a strong turnout from the Titans' roster. Among those who joined Fassel were players Jaylen Harrell, David Martin-Robinson, Julius Chestnut, Jaren Kanak, Sean Brown, and K.J. Osborn, alongside assistant special teams coach Rayna Stewart. Together, they facilitated an afternoon brimming with various football-related drills and interactive sessions, creating a memorable experience for all participants.
Fassel's commitment to this cause dates back to his tenure with the Los Angeles Rams in 2018. Over the years, the program has consistently grown in scale and impact, evolving from its initial two years in Los Angeles, followed by four years in Dallas, and now for the second consecutive year in Tennessee. This sustained growth underscores the increasing need and the profound positive effects of such initiatives on the lives of these vulnerable children.
