The University of Connecticut's women's basketball team has secured a significant addition from the global basketball scene. Marine Dursus, a talented 20-year-old shooting guard from France, has officially committed to joining the Huskies. This move is expected to inject valuable experience and skill into the team, as Dursus boasts an impressive track record in European competitions.
Dursus's Stellar Performance on the International Stage
Dursus arrives at UConn with a strong reputation, having showcased her abilities in the 2025 U20 Eurobasket. During this tournament, she averaged 13.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, demonstrating her offensive prowess and rebounding capabilities. Her leadership was instrumental in guiding the French team to victory in the 2024 U20 Eurobasket, where she notably contributed 17 points in the championship game and earned a coveted spot on the all-tournament team, solidifying her status as a rising star.
Professional Experience Elevates UConn's Roster
Beyond her youth national team success, Dursus currently competes in the premier French women's professional basketball league. Playing for Angers Basket, she averages 9.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists, proving her ability to perform at a high level against seasoned professionals. Her professional experience, coupled with her age, makes her an immediate asset for the Huskies, especially since head coach Geno Auriemma opted against acquiring transfer players this offseason.
