Velocity Dance: Nurturing Talent, Forging Champions
Unveiling Velocity Dance: Essential Information and Core Values
FloDance spotlights Velocity Dance, an extraordinary All Star dance program dedicated to elevating the All Star arena and developing championship athletes both on and off the stage. This season marks their second year, and they are eager to embrace new challenges and triumphs. Located in Vienna, Virginia, the studio first opened its doors in 2014. This season, Velocity Dance is proudly presenting 17 diverse teams and routines, demonstrating their expansive reach and talent.
The Inspiring Genesis of Velocity Dance: A Legacy of Passion and Dedication
Velocity Dance stands as Vienna, Virginia's sole All Star dance program that has consistently competed in the USASF Dance Worlds since 2014. The studio's foundation is built upon creating a supportive and meticulously structured dance training environment. This regimen is designed to cultivate self-assured, autonomous, and formidable dancers across all genres. Four years prior, a significant change in ownership occurred, sparking a dynamic reinvention of what it means to be a competitive athlete. Each year, the team strives to push creative boundaries and introduce innovative routines. Owners Kelly, 29, and Alex, 30, bring a wealth of experience and passion. Kelly, a native of Northern Virginia, began her dance journey early and started coaching All Star dance in 2019, specializing in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary styles. Alex transitioned from cheerleading to competitive dance, coaching since the age of 18. He also serves as a part-time physical therapist and contributes to two USASF Committees. Both owners are actively involved in choreographing routines for the studio, alongside managing essential administrative duties behind the scenes.
Celebrating Success: A Glimpse into Velocity Dance's Remarkable Achievements
Velocity Dance boasts an impressive record of accomplishments. In 2019, they were crowned All Male Hip Hop Dance Worlds Champions. Their success continued in 2021, securing the Open Coed Pom Dance Worlds Championship. Additionally, they earned a Silver Medal in the 2018 All Male Hip Hop Dance Worlds and a Bronze Medal in the 2019 Open Coed Pom Dance Worlds. The studio has also achieved multiple Summit titles in various genres, including Junior Male Hip Hop and Junior CoEd Hip Hop, further cementing their status as a leading force in competitive dance.
The Heart of Velocity Dance: Cultivating Community and Empowering Individuals
What truly distinguishes Velocity Dance is its intimate and close-knit community. Despite being a smaller program, its impact is mighty. The studio places a strong emphasis on the importance of community, recognizing each member's vital role in shaping its unique culture. Velocity Dance strives to create a second home for its dancers, a place where they often spend more time than in their actual residences, fostering a deep sense of belonging and support.
Looking Ahead: Velocity Dance's Vision for Future Triumphs and Artistic Growth
FloDance extends its heartfelt congratulations to Velocity Dance for their extraordinary achievements and offers best wishes for the upcoming season. Their primary objective is to feature competition routines choreographed by some of the most renowned and respected figures in the dance industry.
