Wayne Taylor Racing's Long-Awaited Triumph
After a dry spell of more than two years in the IMSA Grand Touring Prototype class, Wayne Taylor Racing (WTR) finally tasted victory. The No. 10 Cadillac, piloted by Filipe Albuquerque and Ricky Taylor, clinched the Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix at Road America. This win is particularly significant as it's their first in the top category of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship since June 2024 in Detroit, and their first since rejoining Cadillac.
A Grueling Six-Hour Race
The race, held on the challenging Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin road course, was extended to six hours and proved to be a chaotic affair. Despite numerous incidents and multiple restarts, Albuquerque and Taylor maintained their composure. Albuquerque skillfully took the lead from Jack Aitken in the No. 31 Cadillac with roughly 90 minutes remaining and held on as the race concluded under yellow flag conditions.
Podium Finishes and Team Effort
The event saw the No. 5 JDC-Miller MotorSports Porsche 963, driven by Laurin Heinrich, Kaylen Frederick, and Tijmen van der Helm, secure a commendable second place. WTR's own No. 40 Cadillac, with Jordan Taylor and Louis Deletraz at the wheel, rounded out the podium in third. Ricky Taylor emphasized the collective effort, expressing gratitude for the team's unwavering dedication and Cadillac's steadfast support through challenging times. He noted that this victory was not merely luck but a testament to a strong, consistent performance throughout the day, providing a solid foundation for future successes.

Race Incidents and Post-Race Review
The race was marked by nine caution periods and a significant number of penalties, many attributed to aggressive driving. Official results remained pending for more than three hours after the race as IMSA investigated an incident involving the No. 31 Cadillac and the No. 6 Porsche.

In other racing categories, the Inter Europol Competition team, with drivers Jeremy Clarke, Bijoy Garg, and Tom Dillmann in the No. 43 ORECA LMP2 07, secured their second consecutive victory in LMP2. In GTD Pro, Andrea Caldarelli and Sandy Mitchell triumphed in the Pfaff Motorsports-entered No. 9 Lamborghini Temerario GT3. Winward Racing's team of Russell Ward, Philip Ellis, and Indy Dontje, in the No. 57 Mercedes-AMG GT3, also celebrated their second consecutive win in the GTD class.
