Woking Bolsters Squad with Key Loan Signings

Woking Football Club has fortified its roster with the acquisition of two talented players on loan agreements. Steven Turner, a midfielder, is making his anticipated return to Kingfield for a season-long period, having been loaned from Ipswich. This marks his second tenure with the club, following a notable six-match performance towards the conclusion of the 2025-2026 season.

Director of Football Jody Brown expressed his enthusiasm regarding Turner's return, highlighting the midfielder's impact during his initial loan spell. Brown indicated that re-securing Turner's services was always a priority, contingent upon Ipswich Town's decision. Despite Turner's involvement in Ipswich's pre-season training, continuous discussions ultimately led to his successful return to Woking for the full season. Concurrently, Jaiden Putman, a defender from Championship side Queens Park Rangers, has joined Woking on a short-term loan. The 19-year-old's arrival is primarily to address the team's need for injury cover. Putman previously debuted for QPR in the EFL Cup in August 2025 and subsequently gained valuable experience during a 25-appearance loan spell with Bath City in the National League South during the latter half of the last season. Putman conveyed his eagerness to contribute, stating that his discussions with the coaching staff convinced him that Woking was the ideal environment for his continued professional growth and that he aims to justify the club's confidence in him.

These strategic loan signings reflect Woking's proactive approach to enhancing team strength and depth. By bringing in proven talent and promising young players, the club is demonstrating a commitment to competitive excellence and fostering player development. Such moves are vital for any ambitious football club, ensuring a robust squad capable of facing the challenges of a demanding season. The integration of these new players is expected to inject fresh energy and skill, contributing positively to the team's dynamics and overall performance, while offering them invaluable experience to further their careers.
